Yoni Weiss is a professional show queen.
Yoni is the co-creator of Off-Broadway’s Fowl Play, a clucked-up musical comedy with Billboard-charting composer Billy Recce, directed by Olivier Award winner Tye Blue (Titanique).
Fowl Play has also been presented at Playbill Pride in Times Square, Chelsea Table + Stage, 54 Below, and was a semifinalist for the O’Neill National Music Theater Conference and Circle in the Square Emerging Writers Residency.
Directing, writing, and producing credits include headlining Dixon Place’s HOT! Festival with I Do Believe in Fairies (Time Out New York’s “Best LGBT Things to Do in New York”), Pseusdocide (Pace University), I’m a Fucking Icon (The Tank), Crowds Out Front, Mass Cycle, The Nina Variations, and Elegies: A Song Cycle for Doghouse Ensemble Theatre, which he served as co-artistic director for four years. Yoni regularly directs shows at 54 Below, The Green Room 42, Chelsea Table + Stage, and other NYC venues with a food and beverage minimum.
As an assistant/associate, he has worked with award-winning directors on pieces old and new at Classic Stage Company, Encores! at New York City Center, Manhattan Theatre Club, Keen Company, The Town Hall, and more.
Alum of Pace University’s Directing program in partnership with The Drama League and Interlochen Arts Academy.
Yoni is the Theatrical Coordinator for International Literary Properties, supporting authors, playwrights, librettists, lyricists, composers, estates, and heirs to realize the value from book and theatrical-based intellectual property.
Working closely with TV and film producers, regional theatres, commercial producers, touring companies, licensing agencies, and community and education theatre groups across the world, ILP Theatrical represents luminary authors Tennessee Williams, Langston Hughes, Alfred Uhry, Paddy Chayefsky, Jean Shepherd, and others.
Before joining ILP, Yoni served as Manager of Acquisitions & New Work at Broadway Licensing Global, where he championed enduring legacies and emerging voices across the Dramatists Play Service and Playscripts imprints, collaborating with major brands and artists to develop, license, and elevate new work for the stage.
